Introduction
Inspired by both the history of East London and the New York meatpacking district, Manhattan Plaza is a stylish and suave new high-rise development in Poplar ideally suited to off-plan buyers. Working with London-based contractor Telford Homes who AGF has had the pleasure of working with previously on other products, we were required to fabricate and supply a suite of CP155LS patio doors and CS77 windows using Reynaers aluminium.
Ambition
The hope with Manhattan Plaza was to create an exclusive selection of 1, 2, and 3 bedroom apartments for London socialites that want to better experience the E14 locale. Design by Barton Willmore architects and constructed by Telford Homes, we knew that every company involved would have to work harmoniously together to make this a reality.
Timescale
The initial groundworks for Manhattan Plaza started in August of 2015, with the structural frame being completed just before the start of the new year. The highly ambitious project was scheduled for a Summer 2017 completion, and we’re pleased to report that show home viewings for the structure were ready by September of that year.
Installation
`Having worked with Telford Homes on previous London-based projects of a similar scale, the installation process of Manhattan Plaza’s high-performance windows and doors was seamless and a perfect fit. Both highly-insulating systems, future residents could look forward to low energy costs as well as attractive style, made possible thanks to minimalist sight lines and effortless function.
Outcome
Manhattan Plaza now stands proud in London’s E14 area, sporting a series of contemporary homes designed to cater to the ‘dynamic lifestyle’ needs of businessmen and professionals. Offering citywide views across 1,600 apartments, those working in the financial district now have a perfect residential option.
